Shadow of betrayal

Mumbai India

Singhania's filthy words had completely ruined Vairagya's mood, leaving his blood boiling with dark rage. Striding into the parking lot with predatory steps, he slammed himself into his luxury sports car and roared out of the venue, tearing down the road toward the VR Mansion.

Watching Vairagya drive off alone, Vidhaan's lips curled into a sinister, opportunistic smirk. He whipped out his phone and dialed a hidden number. The moment the call was answered on the other end, Vidhaan spoke in a cold, venomous whisper. "He is entirely alone right now. The timing is absolutely perfect. Make sure he doesn't survive this. I don't even want his corpse to be found. Finish him."

Hanging up the phone, Vidhaan let out a dark, twisted chuckle, staring into the night. "No one can save you today, Vairagya. Enough is enough. I've tolerated your insolence and swallowed your insults for far too long. But no more. Tonight, you leave this world for good. And once you're gone, I am going straight to your precious... because I will be the one comforting her from now on. Say goodbye to this world, little brother."

With a triumphant smile plastering his face, Vidhaan walked over to his car and drove off toward the mansion to witness the aftermath.

Meanwhile, Vairagya's sports car was flying down a completely deserted, pitch-black stretch of highway.

Suddenly, a massive truck violently swerved directly into his lane. Reacting with split-second reflexes, Vairagya ripped the steering wheel to the side. The car spun out of control, careening off the asphalt and slamming violently into a massive tree by the roadside. The impact was devastating, crushing the front hood, but the instant deployment of the airbags shielded Vairagya from fatal injury. He was left with nothing but a shallow, bleeding cut right across his forehead.

Pure, unadulterated fury exploded within him. He instantly decoded the situation-this wasn't an accident; it was a hit orchestrated by his enemies. Pop-locking the glove compartment, Vairagya grabbed his custom tactical gun and stepped out of the wreckage into the shadows. Within seconds, a heavily armed hit squad of ten to twelve brutal, buff men emerged from the darkness, surrounding him.

Vairagya stared at the mercenary lineup, his eyes narrowing into lethal slits. "If you value your pathetic lives, turn around and run right now. Because if you stay, not even God will be able to save you from my wrath."

The lead hitman sneered, raising his weapon. "Save your prayers for yourself, Raychand. You're outnumbered and cornered. No one is saving you tonight."

A terrifying, icy smirk broke across Vairagya's face. He looked at the speaker with death in his eyes. "The man who can kill Vairagya Raychand hasn't been born yet. Get that through your thick skull."

Without wasting a single millisecond, Vairagya raised his arm and fired. BANG. The bullet tore precisely through the dead center of the leader's forehead. The man dropped like a stone, dead before he even hit the dirt.

The remaining mercenaries panicked, immediately opening a barrage of gunfire toward Vairagya. He dove gracefully behind the sturdy chassis of his wrecked car, using it as a shield.

Peeking out through the crossfire, Vairagya returned fire with lethal, flawless precision. Every single trigger pull dropped another body. Within minutes, the deafening screech of tires echoed down the road as a fleet of black SUVs tore into the scene. Vairagya's elite bodyguards had arrived. Even when Vairagya chose to drive out alone, his shadow security detail was always operational, tracking his coordinates from a distance without anyone's knowledge.

In less than five minutes, the road was entirely silent, littered with the bloody corpses of the hit squad.

Vairagya stepped out from behind the car, wiping the trace of blood from his forehead. He locked his burning gaze onto his head security operative. "Find out immediately who sent these rats. Find out who suddenly grew the audacity to dream of putting Vairagya Raychand in a grave."

The young operative lowered his head in deep submission. "Yes, Boss. I will try my best to extract the information."

Vairagya's gaze turned suffocatingly hostile, pinning the boy in place. "I don't hire people for 'trying,' Faiz. I want results. Bring me the names. Understand? Now get out of my sight and clean up this garbage."

Leaving his men to handle the bodies, Vairagya slid into the back of one of the pristine security SUVs and commanded the driver to speed towards the VR Mansion.

Back at the estate, Chahat was deeply asleep on the grand master bed. She was still dressed in the midnight-black luxury dress from earlier. The main lights were switched off, plunging the bedroom into a deep, hazy darkness, illuminated only by the faint amber glow of a night lamp.

Suddenly, a towering, dark shadow slipped soundlessly into the room. The figure moved with practiced, quiet dominance, slowly walking over and sinking onto the edge of the mattress right beside Chahat's sleeping form.

In the dim yellow twilight, her beautiful, serene face was faintly visible. The shadow extended a large, warm hand, gently tracing the soft skin of her cheek before slowly gliding down, his touch possessively trailing along her bare legs.

Feeling the heavy, intimate touch against her skin, Chahat's consciousness began to pull through the layers of sleep. She slowly opened her eyes, only to freeze. A massive, imposing silhouette was looming directly over her. Because of the shadows, she couldn't register his face. Panicking at the thought of an intruder in her bedroom, Chahat scrambled backward, opening her mouth to let out a blood-curdling scream.

But before a sound could leave her throat, the figure lunged forward, slamming his large palm firmly over her mouth, pinning her down as his heavy frame hovered inches from her face.

As her eyes adjusted to the dim amber light, she finally recognized the sharp, striking facial features-it was Vairagya.

Chahat let out a massive, trembling sigh of relief against his palm. Sensing her calm down, Vairagya slowly lifted his hand from her lips, his dark eyes anchoring onto hers. "What's wrong, precious? Why did you panic so much? Did you honestly think anyone other than me would dare to step foot inside this room? No one breathes in this space without my command, so drop the fear. You can sleep in absolute peace."

Reaching over, Vairagya flicked the master switch, flooding the entire bedroom with bright light. Now, they could see each other perfectly.

Vairagya gently caressed her flushed cheek with the back of his fingers, his voice dropping into a dark, husky register. "Give me five minutes, precious. I'll wash up, and then we will have dinner together. And once dinner is over... I am going to devour you."

With that wicked promise, Vairagya turned and disappeared into the luxury bathroom.

The moment the bathroom door clicked shut, Chahat placed her trembling hand over her pounding heart, gasping for air. "Dear God, what kind of a monster is this man? He literally almost gave me a heart attack! Who on earth sneaks into a dark room like a ghost?!"

A few minutes later, the bathroom door swung open, and Vairagya stepped back out.

Chahat's breath hitched completely. He was wearing absolutely nothing but a white towel slung dangerously low around his waist. Chahat's eyes inadvertently locked onto him for a fraction of a second before she violently snapped her gaze away, her cheeks burning a furious shade of pink.

Watching her frantic avoidance, a dark, amused smile played on Vairagya's lips. He walked closer, his voice laced with casual arrogance. "How long do you plan on hiding your eyes from me, precious? Because you better get used to it-I intend on walking around exactly like this."

Chahat screamed internally, hiding her face. "Oh my god, how can a human being be so unapologetically shameless?! God, please give this man some basic decency! Go put some clothes on!"

But Vairagya didn't grant her any distance. He marched straight up to the edge of the bed, standing directly in front of her. Drawn by his overpowering presence, Chahat's gaze instinctively drifted back up to his frame.

But the moment her eyes locked onto his upper arm and shoulder, her jaw dropped, and her eyes widened in pure, unadulterated shock.
